I’ve been trying to better articulate WHY I run the business I do. I mentioned my current business model (making 1-2k+ monthly through blogging & YouTube) to others in my life and I realized that this lifestyle isn’t for everyone! For some people, this is a very small amount of money, and insignificant to them. For me, this is more than I could ever dream of! After completing my master's in Special Education and becoming a certified teacher, I was honestly unsure about pursuing this career. I didn't think I could handle the demands of being a classroom teacher, I figured I could be an aide at best. So when I got my job as a teaching aide after graduating....I thought making $12/hour would be as good as it gets. I thought I would have to work HARD for every dollar. And I definitely did that in the classroom. But right now, I’m just sitting on my couch just writing this out. I know I can go out for my walk whenever. Go play on the playground. Go for a run. And whenever I feel like it, I can film a video for my YouTube channel. I’m playing the long game. I wouldn’t have gotten to this point if I didn’t commit to this life for the last 7 years. It took a long time to find the right business model for me. And I’m still actively working towards diversifying my income, but I’m grateful for where I am now. Earning 4-figures without working a set schedule or doing whatever a boss tells me to do. No work politics. I used to feel bad about myself that I couldn’t handle work drama. The gossiping, the comparison, the judgment I experienced from other staff at school. As a trained special educator, I can handle the “challenging behavior” of kids that other adults couldn’t. What I can’t handle is petty adults. And now I don’t have to deal with that. So, what's your "why"? Why do you want to make money from home? Hit reply & let me know, I love hearing from you. Yesterday I sent an email about how I regret buying a year of Kajabi. While I have made over $200 in revenue in a short time period, I feel restricted because I can only sell three products and it cost me over $1400 for one year. Someone asked, do I get three products plus a community? Unfortunately, no. A community counts towards your product limit. You can even have multiple "groups" within your community, but each counts as a product! So basically, if you're someone who has a lot of course...
Someone recently asked me what my job is, and I told him I'm a YouTuber. His follow-up question was, "Do you get a lot of views?" I said no, but I still make money from my YouTube videos. Here's an example. From March 23 to March 29 this month, I've made $2.84 in ad revenue. Oof. Maybe I can buy a burger at McDonalds a year from now when I finally get paid out (you need to reach $100 in ad revenue before you get a payout) In the same time period, I made $653 in revenue via affiliate links,...
