Recently we've been looking to hire help around the house, and I was shocked when a potential babysitter told me it would cost $75-$80 for two hours of babysitting. This would be with my husband and I present in the home, we just needed someone to spend time with the kids while we work for a bit. I guess I'm an old lady because when I was a kid I think teens were getting paid like $10/hr to watch kids. Oh how times have changed! Anyways, this made me realize, costs of everything seem to be rising more rapidly than our income. Of course in moments like this, I think it's just me, and then I remind myself, wait, I bet A LOT of you are feeling the exact same. So I created this wonderful Airtable spreadsheet to track my business & personal expenses! (I use one tracker for each). It was truly a gamechanger to sit down for a couple hours, sort through all of our recurring weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual expenses, and get them all down in one place so I can see it all laid out.
